Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics (“Code”) of the North Texas Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (“ACCA-NTX”) serves as a code of professional conduct for ACCA-NTX members. It is designed to assist and enable its members to acquire, serve and satisfy their customers through the exhibition of integrity honesty, quality, efficiency, safety, and legality in their business practices. Members of ACCA-NTX shall abide by and conform to the following code of professional conduct:
1. Instill the highest respect for the environmental systems contracting profession within the community.
2. Ensure that honesty, integrity and good faith are hallmarks of contractors’ business practices, including individual contractor sales, advertising, installation, and service of environmental systems.
3. To the best of my ability, provide my clients with products and services as represented in my company’s agreements, proposals and advertisements. This includes monitoring the actions of my employees to see that they adhere to these representations.
4. Adhere to the rules and regulations set forth in the Texas Contractor’s Licensing Law and to all City, State and Federal laws ad regulations governing our industry, and to the best of my ability, monitor my employees to see that they are made aware of all such rules and regulations and that they actively endeavor to follow them.
5. Report to the proper authorities those people that I see are in violation of the Texas Contractor’s Licensing Law.
6. Provide my clients with written information concerning all warranties and guarantees for the products and services that my company provides, and any manufacturer’s warranties.
7. Take appropriate action on all equipment and product factory recalls of which I have been notified by the manufacturer.
8. Employ those sales practices, which will provide my clients with a complete and accurate portrayal of their options.
9. Abide by and support the Bylaws of ACCA-NTX.
10. To continually strive to gain respect for the industry, both in the local community and national levels.
11. To make the largest contribution possible to the health, safety and welfare of the public in the installation, maintenance and operation of HVACR equipment.
12. To ensure that all public pronouncements, which shall include but not be limited to, advertisements, written articles, shall be truthful, accurate and not misleading.
13. To design or build in a manner compatible in every respect with public health and safety and to comply with all applicable laws, ordinances or regulations.
14. To fulfill without delay all contractual obligations, including but not limited to all warranties of products and services.
15. Agree to not engage in illegal or unethical practices that relate to the fitness of the member to operate a business as it pertains to the profession as it relates to the consumer and agree not to conduct business in a manner that is in contravention of the purposes, goals and objectives of the Corporation.
16. Adhere to the policy by resolution as to the non-solicitation of Member employees at any ACCA-NTX sponsored training and/or event (i.e. including, but not limited to, dinner meetings, bass tournaments, golf tournaments, chili cook-off’s, Heat the Town programs and other special events).
