State of Texas License Preparation Course
The state of Texas requires that any company performing air conditioning and refrigeration contracting within the state employ a licensee with the appropriate license.
The four-day 32 hour License Prep Training Course is designed to prepare applicants for the state license environmental exam whether taking Class A or Class B exam. This course covers the latest codes being used in TX, technical review of HVACR materials, theory, and contracting business operations and the governing laws. In addition, the following areas are covered:
- Strategies on test taking
- How to effectively organize reference material
- In-depth practice experience in using reference material
- Four-day review of test materials
- Practice exams, each day, over material covered that day

- 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code
- High Pressure Boilers
- Low Pressure Boilers
- Pipefitter’s Handbook
- Trane Ductulator
- Texas Business Reference Manual
- Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Laws & Regulations (Free from State)
These reference materials should be purchased at the North Texas ACCA office or online at the following website: www.acca-ntx.org
Additional supplies to be brought to class:
- Big button calculator
- Straight edge (clear plastic is recommended)
- 4-Color package of highlighters
- Sticky notes or generic tabbing materials
Guaranteed Results
- It is guaranteed that if you do not pass the license exam after completing the four-day license preparation class, you may repeat the class at no additional tuition charge within six months of originally taking the class. There is a $100 retake processing fee.
